Almeria has something for everyone particularly families,
it is a safe area that gets very busy with Spanish tourists
during July and August which adds to the overall atmosphere
but be prepared for some very late nights as the Spanish
are reluctant to go to bed until the early hours. The Almeria
desert hosts a wonderful western style town where many of
the Spaghetti westerns were filmed like “A fistful
of Dollars” In Almeria city ferries travel daily to
North Africa and in Mojacar there are many festivals and
concerts throughout August. Golfing Holidays are becoming
extremely popular here with the Indian course at the Desert
Springs golf resort, Europe’s only desert golf course
and the Marina Golf in Mojacar, July and August are best
avoided for Golf as the heat is almost unmanageable. |

Alcabaza, Magnificent Moorish Fortress built in the 10th
century found in Almeria City.
Cueva de los Letreros Located just outside of Velez Rubio,
you will find prehistoric cave paintings of Humans animals
and birds.
Cabo de Gata Nature reserve located west of Almeria City
home to the pink flamingoes and numerous other wildlife.
