Information about Bulgaria
In recent years, the serious investor has
started to turn it’s eyes towards
Bulgaria. Why, you may ask, as the mere
mention of the name does not instantly conjure
up dream holidays. Last year, property prices
in Bulgaria rose by more than 30% - this
is before accession to the EU starts to
make the country wealthier. This combined
with the fact that Bulgarian property prices
are currently some of the cheapest in Europe,
make the country worth investigating. |

| Bulgaria is scheduled
to join the European Union in 2007 and has
a stable currency that is linked to the
Euro. The cost of living is one of the lowest
in Europe—a pint of lager typically
costs
about 40p and a three course meal with wine
is priced at no more than £5 a head.
Understandably, all major tour operators
will now be on the Black Sea coast next
year, some such as Thompson, for the first
time, with flight times about three hours

With a diverse climate, Bulgaria offers both
ski and beach resorts. The Black Sea coast
boasts over 200km of sandy beaches and enjoys
more than 1700 hours of sunshine from May
to October, with average temperatures of approx

Skiing in Bulgaria
Of course, skiing may be the preferred holiday
pastime, for which Bulgaria can offer a
variety of ski resorts. The average air
temperature is –3c and the ski runs
vary from gentle slopes more suited to beginners
to some challenging runs and giant slaloms
for the experienced downhill skiers. All
ski runs are maintained to a high standard
and most resorts have a wide range of shops,
bars and restaurants |

| Obviously, with this much to offer, you
can now understand why the serious investor
is wanting to fully explore the benefits of
Bulgaria. Developers are predicting a return
on capital of 100% within three years, but
even that may be conservative if one of Britain’s
low-cost airlines opens up a route there.
